I have been trying to find recordings of Suzanne’s ‘Private Goes Public’ (Or ‘Public Goes Private’ always get the title mixed up) this was the B-side of the 99.9 cassette. Also ‘Black Widow Station’ which was on a live album someone had gotten from London?
“Private Goes Public” is a bonus song that is found on UK, European, and Japanese versions of 99.9F Degrees; EBay, Discogs etc. have many copies of the CD for sale. Just check that the version you buy has that as a bonus track. The only place I’ve seen “Black Widow Station” is on the “Live from London 1986″ vinyl record and as a bonus track on some extended singles such as the 12” version of “Left of Center”.
Loved the Carlyle review, wish I could have been there too.
Thanks, also, for the explanation of the phase “fold, spindle and mutilate” in your piece on the 99.9 album. It’s in a lyric of a Frank Zappa song (http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/frankzappa/dumballover.html) and I’ve wondered what the origin was.
